We enjoy good food, we love cooking, and, above all, we value serving imaginative English dishes to our guests. Our menu is table d'hote, four courses, with plenty of choices in starters and sweets served in cosy surroundings and, of course, coffee in the lounge. Given adequate warning we can cater for your own requests and we can provide for special diets.

We raise and process our own meat from our rare breed herds. They are only rare because they have been passed by in the general quest for cheapness rather than quality. Enjoy our meat with a flavour as it used to be. We use local, fresh ingredients and our dishes are just cooked and served; we believe the freezer should only store our home-made icecreams. Cheeses are predominently local, carefully selected by us from a specialist supplier.

We also believe that plates are for filling, not for drawing pictures on. Most customers threaten to diet on leaving - so that they can come again!
