wild birds Wildlife Log

There is nothing scientific about this, it is just the result of casual observation as I go about our other business. A more rigorous approach to collecting the data would, I am sure, yield a greater number of species, especially amongst the small birds. The gaps in the record are more likely to be my not being able to watch rather than the species not being here.

Birds

This log is limited to species seen on or over the farm and indicates that I know the birds are nesting on the farm rather than in the surrounding area

Butterflies

I do not net our butterflies for identification so occasionally species seen are not logged if a sighting is brief

Flora

With regret the task is too great to have pictures of all the wildflowers on the farm. The log is a list of species found and during 2005 we will be logging the distribution and flowering dates.
